When we last visited Monkey's room, we had paint and not much else in there. But yesterday three huge boxes arrived on the porch of Chez Homburg and just a few hours later....Monkey has FURNITURE!
Here's a look at the process:
The assembled crib with bedding! Karl wouldn't let me take pictures of the crib assembly. It was supposed to be a surprise. I did sneak in for dresser/changing table assembly. Walker was also on hand to supervise. Walker goes from supervising to looking concerned. What does all this new furniture mean? Dresser is starting to look like a dresser, and the pile of foam packing pieces is growing! The finished product this morning! We spent much of last night measuring walls and furniture to figure out how to make the room work. It kind of felt like we were playing Tetris! This weekend Karl will be moving each piece into position, including the chair that's currently living downstairs. Next week we'll pick up a bookshelf to house Monkey's library and monkey related gear.
So now that we've covered Monkey's future home...how about an update on Monkey's current home, a.k.a. the belly. Here's a flashback to the last time we checked in on Monkey in the womb..
The bump at 23 weeks Three weeks later, same sweater, the bump at 26 weeks. This weekend the bump and I are hitting the road to honor another new mama to be, my friend Emily. Her baby, known as Spud and Monkey's future BFF, is due next month!
